The company is a family held media production organization incorporated in 1975 by its current Managing Director and Chairman Sorab Irani. Oorvazi Irani his daughter as Director of the company is now along with her father carrying forward the company legacy as a filmmaker.

A few critically acclaimed productions produced for Channel Four Television, London are Percy (1985-87) a feature film co funded by Channel Four and NFDC, winner of the National Award in India & awarded at the Mannheim Film Festival Germany. The Last House in Bombay (1990-91) - awarded the Silver Conch at the Bombay International Film Festival for documentary & short films. The Clap Trap (1993-94) , The Ramayana - A Journey (1995-96-97).

Produced with Indofocus Films for Channel Four Television The British Raj Through Indian Eyes (1991 92). Produced with D & N Productions for Channel Four Television Something Like A War (1992—93) Awarded at the Nyon film Festival Switzerland. Produced with D & N Productions for BBC London The Legacy of Malthus (1994). Produced with Double Battery Films Pvt. Ltd. for Channel Four Television Kisses On the Train (1994) a fiction film- awarded at the Cinema Du Reel Paris.

Other productions include Rakshak (1980), Project Tiger (1982 – 83 ) for Doordarshan Indian Television . Researched, Produced & Directed for OHM TV - The Netherlands, a documentary Lord Ganesh - The Elephant Head God (1997 -98).

Independent films produced by the company are The K File (2012), Mamaiji (2011), The Michael Chekhov Acting Technique DVD (2011).

Two documentaries The Last House in Bombay and The Clap Trap have been preserved for posterity with the National Film Archives, Pune and Films Division Archives, Mumbai. The company is also the Literary Agent for Farrukh Dhondy in India and other select international authors having placed books with leading publishers Harper Collins and Hachette India.
